PROJECT SUMMARY:
As a part of my Graphic and Web Design work with the Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance (CAPA), I developed a series of infographics and visual materials to communicate research and practical guidance for individuals living with arthritis. Working across design software and web platforms, I translated complex information related to occupational therapy, assistive devices, and daily life strategies into accessible and visually engaging content for a broad patient audience.
PROJECT BRIEF:
The objective was to communicate complex health information in a clear, engaging, and visually consistent way. I created infographics and supporting visual assets for use across webpages and distribution through a national network, ensuring content was both accessible and easy to understand. Canva was the primary tool requested to enable all team members to access and edit files.
APPROACH:
My approach focused on simplifying complex information into clear visual formats. I used layout, typography, and visual hierarchy to guide understanding and improve readability. I worked closely with team members and researchers to ensure accuracy, and iterated on designs based on feedback to strengthen clarity and usability. I also collaborated on the implementation of visuals across web platforms and supported ongoing refinements where needed.
OUTCOMES:
The final deliverables provided a cohesive set of visual materials that made patient-facing information more accessible and engaging. The work supported consistent communication across platforms and helped translate research into practical, easy-to-use resources.This included infographics for patient education and awareness, visual assets for web and social distribution, and supporting layouts for project webpages. Working with a translator, I also designed both English and French versions of all visual materials created.
